The perfect Christmas gift for friends and family. Every Catholic home should have one.
Gorgeous navy blue dupion silk, embroidered with a traditional Catholic house blessing, in a 10" x 8" Cream frame, fully backed.
Epiphany 6th January (also known as Twelfth Night, Theophany, or Three Kings Day) marks the occasion of a time-honored Christian tradition of blessing ones house. This beautifully framed house blessing can be placed in a main focal point within the house, or at the entrance of your home.
What does the inscription 20 + C + M + B + 18 mean?
The letters have two meanings. First, they represent the initials of the Magi — Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar — who came to visit Jesus in His first home. They also abbreviate the Latin phrase, Christus mansionem benedicat: “May Christ bless the house.”
The 3 crowns represent the 3 Kings. The “+” signs represent the cross, and the “20” at the beginning and the “18” at the end mark the year. Taken together, this inscription is performed as a request that Christ to bless those homes so marked that he stay with those who dwell therein throughout the entire year.
